DRYER ELEMENT DE838A
Whirlpool / Kenmore replacement dryer heating element. This dryer heating element is used on many Whirlpool and Sears Kenmore brand dryers as well as some Kitchenaid and Roper branded models. 240V 5400W with 5/16" terminals. The dimensions are approximately 10 inches by 6 inches. If your element needs replacing you will probably be able to see where the element wire has actually burned in two. You can also use an ohm meter to check the element wire for continuity. If you need the high limit thermostat and thermal fuse kit to go with this element see part # SUPSET197 linked below. The operating thermostat (4-wire thermostat on the blower housing) is part # SUP3387134. The 279838 Whirlpool dryer element replaces part numbers: 8565582, PS334313, 3403585, 3398064, 3398066, 279838-PK, AP3094254, DE838, 279838A, W10815654.
