A clothes dryer's heart is her motor and when that dies, you need a transplant quick! Often, when the motor fails you will hear it humming and buzzing as it tries to start. You may smell an electrical burning smell. Or, as it begins it's path toward failure, the dryer may run for a short time then shut off and refuse to start back up until the motor has cooled down a bit.
