The RPWFE water filter represents GE’s most advanced filtration ever. This filter has been tested and verified to filter 5 trace pharmaceuticals including ibuprofen, progesterone, atenolol, trimethoprim, and fluoxetine (The contaminants or other substances removed or reduced by this water filter are not necessarily in everyone's water)

RPWFE water filters have been NSF certified to filter contaminants such as asbestos, lead, cysts, mercury, and select pesticides and harmful chemicals.

It has also been NSF certified for structural performance and to filter chlorine taste and odor and particulates

According to GE, the RPWFE has a 6 month filter life (cartridge should be replaced every 6 months at a rated capacity, or sooner if a noticeable reduction in flow rate occurs)
